Khuda Kay Liye

I would not go on explaining how the movie is the best and heart-touching and every Indian should watch that; because it is very true and all of us know that.
But the point to be thought upon is whether Pakistan is still highly conservative and dominated by centuries-old regional tribal customs. I totally agree that Pakistan has a rich and unique culture that has preserved established traditions throughout history. But like in the movie, is the law system based on Islam and judges (read court) decide the result of a case depending upon what Kuran has to say in the matter. A country must have stable constitution (independent of what Moulana says).
Also it is shown singing and hobbies regarding music are banned in Pakistan and people have negative opinions about artists. (Main thing of concern is all this is happening in Lahore (considered one of the developed cities of Pakistan))
I would really like to know the current status in Pakistan. How do people live there ? How much resemblance is present between the actual situation and the one shown in the movie.
Please I do not mean any disrespect to Pakistan or Pakistani Friends. Please forgive me if you find this offensive.
